Oops, I did it again

Laundromat
Confession:
I joined another social media site. I know, I know. But here's the thing: I sooooo wish I had known about Tumblr earlier. It's like Blogger, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest rolled into one. (Yes, of course, I have all of those accounts. I am, in fact, losing my mind.) But Tumblr is kind of the best of everything. I was a little surprised that so few of my friends seem to use it, but I guess that's how it is. I had been using HootSuite as a way to post to Facebook and Twitter at the same time, but I really didn't care for its interface. And I love Pinterest, but I don't really use it socially other than to non-verbally communicate with Gerbs. I used to (honest to God) make actual, physical scrapbooks of pictures I found inspiring; now I just do it online with Pinterest. I like to think I'm saving trees and storage space in my house. And I love WordPress, but it is almost totally lacking a social component (still trying to figure out how to get the comments conversation going). And I read that this type of blogging platform is almost antiquated (Gasp! Say it's not so.), but I have too much to say for just the short, little posts that are better suited to Tumblr, so I'm going to try to integrate WordPress and Tumblr the best I can. (I guess the WordPress.com folks have this built in, but the self-hosted WP people aren't so lucky.)

Okay, so I hope that this will make my online life a bit more organized and therefore my mind more organized. A girl can dream, can't she?

P.S. Here's my Tumblr page. Come say hello!

  1. I am definitely dealing with social media schizophrenia right now. I have a wordpress blog for my journal about Ben and have a few drafts written on my All the Little Birds page but am not sure how to..or if I want to mainstream it all into one local.
